The GNSS Fundamentals & Augmentation Systems offers a study on satellite navigation, divided into GNSS Fundamentals, which covers the theoretical principles and basic operation of global navigation systems (such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou), and Augmentation Systems, which focuses on technologies designed to correct signal distortion caused by the ionosphere or local interference, aiming to increase accuracy, reliability, and availability while reducing the margin of error.
The course is divided into two Modules, with one Session each as outlined below:
Module 1 - GNSS Fundamentals & Augmentation Systems
Module 2 - GNSS Applicaton in Aviation
SUPARCO (Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission) is the national space agency of Pakistan, established in 1961. Its mandate includes research and development in space science, technology, and peaceful applications to foster the socio-economic uplift of Pakistan and develop indigenous capabilities in space technology. The agency focuses on areas like satellite design, development, and the use of satellite imagery for various applications.
Lecturer:
* Mr. Muhammad Bilal, General Manager GNSS, SUPARCO, Pakistan.
* Mr. Safder Khan, Manager GNSS, SUPARCO, Pakistan.
Upon completion Module 1, participants will be able to:
a) Understanding the GNSS fundamentals and the Augmentation Systems as external mechanisms that supplement standard GNSS to enhance performance.
